6th Annual Catalina Island Five-Day Workshop
Monday, January 14 through Friday, January 19th
To have a week in winter to paint on this island paradise is a wonderful opportunity.
We have the incredible Hotel Portofino across from the beach and in the morning you can grab your coffee from the lobby, walk across the street with your gear and paint. Click here for more details and to register.
Weather permitting we will also take a day and bus over to the wild side of the island where the landscape is as raw as the day it was made.
I've been painting on the island since 1996 and the great thing is the love the islanders have for the artists. This is an experience you won't want to miss.
Rust / Roadsides
|On the Easel: Lake & Rail Elevator
Third trip: Buffalo & Troy NY
This is the third trip in my project with my friend John Cosby as we make our way through the nation's Rustbelt and paint the remnants of the great generation that built this country. The people and their histories were amazing - a truly American story.

The Video Shoot that Didn't Happen (Yet)
I am honored to be part of a new video project which partners Plein Air Magazine & the Plein Air Painters of America. Despite a lot of scouting and effort on both of our parts, the fog refused to lift.
Mother nature always seems to let you know who is the boss.
We will reschedule and I will keep you posted.
Models Night Out
This is something I have wanted to do for years to thank these great folks who pour their life out on the model stand every week. To have them all meet and have fun without me asking them to take another difficult standing pose was a pleasure for us all.
A great model can make or break a drawing experience and they are truly the best.
